South Warrnambool's George Stevens and Hamilton Kangaroos' Vincent Huf - who both feature regularly in the NAB League's under 17 competition, were promoted to the club's under 19 side this past week.

Loader said the duo were promoted to play at a higher level given their looming Victoria Country commitments.

"We've got some games into them because their carnival starts next week," the former North Melbourne VFL coach said.

"We wanted them to play at a higher level and challenge themselves a little bit before playing at that state level.

"We've been able to get two or three games into those boys and George, well he's a special one. He's under 16 playing in an under 19 competition is a super high-calibre player."

Loader said Huf, who booted five goals on debut against Gippsland Power the Saturday before last, was also an exciting prospect.

Both Stevens and Huf booted majors in the Rebels' 11.8 (74) to 6.5 (41) triumph over the Murray Bushrangers on Saturday.

Loader said the result was pleasing and his side was playing "good, consistent footy".

"We've been challenged by teams and we're able to respond," he said.

"We want to keep growing in every area of our game and we've got a fair bit of improvement left in us.

"We have a wonderful balance in our side in that we have two or three good key defenders and a couple of small backs who can intercept mark. We have a good, strong midfield and good forwards who can crumb well."
