McInerney told The Standard Rachel Dobson was back to her damaging best in her second week back from a six-game layoff against Hamilton Kangaroos on Saturday.
The Saints posted a 32-goal victory in trying conditions which maintained their foothold on third place on the Hampden league ladder.
"She's playing really well. It's been good to get her back as we haven't had her experience in the side," McInerney said.
"Rachel shot beautifully and was coming off what was a good game against Port Fairy (her first game back)."
McInerney said Koroit hadn't yet had a full side on the park but was proud of how players had adjusted.
"Mia Mills came up from the under 15s and played an open game, we gave Taylor McInerney a go from division one - she's still only 17 - because we didn't have Layla Monk," she said.
"While we've been missing a few we're getting to see different combinations and building up some versatility.
"As much as it's been hard, we've been able to develop some players who might not have otherwise had an opportunity (this early)."
The first-year coach said the Saints needed to keep building their fitness as they prepared for a clash with fifth-place Warrnambool at Victoria Park this coming Saturday.
