The Blues suffered a shock nine-point defeat to Cobden at The Pond in round nine and were determined to make amends at Port Fairy on Saturday.
After a week of candid discussions on the training track, they did just that.
Warrnambool stunned the Seagulls early, booting six majors to one in the first term from 12 scoring shots in a display of dominance which carried across the afternoon.
It can be pretty exposing for some guys and it's pretty honest but it's really good feedback.
- Ben Parkinson
Ben Parkinson's side finished 49 points ahead at the final, rediscovering some of the form which led many to tip the talent-laden Blues as a finals contender early in the campaign.
"We probably played four quarters for the first time. The lapses we've had where we've had no influence on periods of games didn't happen (against Port Fairy)," Parkinson said.
"That was an obvious positive. We structured up a little bit differently as well which worked for us. I think the boys played to their structures a little bit better than we have been.
"It was really good."
Parkinson said the availability of vision meant he and his coaching staff were able to pinpoint areas of improvement for direct feedback in the Blues' form slump.
"The beauty of having it is that you're able to show some edits and highlights and things that you're talking about, which backs that up," he said.
"It's actual evidence. It can be pretty exposing for some guys and it's pretty honest but it's really good feedback.
"They were able to take that on the chin and then respond with (Saturday's) effort."
Parkinson said the match was a step in the right direction and was relishing a test against ladder leader Koroit on Saturday.
