The league's seniors missed rounds eight and nine while juniors missed out on one round due to pandemic restrictions.

This weekend is round 11 but round 12 will now consist of the matches which were scheduled for round eight and the matches scheduled in round nine will now be played in round 13.

Round 14 will consist of the games scheduled for round 12 and so it will continue until round 18.

It means the current round 17 and 18 games will be excluded from the draw.

Although this option can be reviewed later in the season when all relevant factors may become clearer according to a statement from WDFNL president Kylie Murphy and football and netball operations coordinator, Peter Martin.

They emphasised the league was striving to ensure each team played each other at least once this season.

"The board was of the view it would be fairer if we could ensure all clubs were to play each other at least once during the current season," the statement said.

"The board was also of the view this should occur as early as possible in an attempt to reduce the impact of further lockdowns/restrictions on the draw should they reoccur."

The revised draw ensures each club has played each other once within the next few rounds.

"The board was also mindful of attempting to even out the number of home games and under the revised draw each club will have eight home games," the statement said.

The board also made a decision about what happens to the junior competitions at its meeting on Tuesday night.

"It is also important to note there will be a junior bye in round 13 as the juniors have already played the games scheduled in this round - this will mean two byes in a row for the juniors corresponding with school holidays," the statement said.
