The helicopter was active for about 15 minutes at 1.30pm.
The exercise is understood to have started at Geelong and Colac and then involved a Warrnambool chapter before refueling.
The chopper landing at the Harris Street reserve created plenty of interest and a large crowd gathered to see what was happening.
