Police say an Allansford man died in a crash in the town on Wednesday afternoon.
The man, who was on a motorcycle, was riding along Ziegler Parade when he was involved in a crash with a dual cab utility.
Police Sergeant Dave Walkley said the crash happened at 4.10pm on Wednesday.
"The man has died at the scene," Sergeant Walkley said.
"Emergency services attended.
"A 75-year-old Warrnambool man was driving the utility.
"He was not injured but was transported to hospital where is being assessed.
"A routine blood sample will be taken.
Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) detectives are on the way from Melbourne to investigate the crash.
"They are expected to arrive about 9pm and take over the running of the investigation," Sergeant Walkley said.
"It's expected the driver of the ute will be interviewed by MCIU later on Wednesday evening."
EARLIER: Police have confirmed a motorcyclist has died in a crash along Allansford's Ziegler Parade on Wednesday afternoon.
It's understood a vehicle turning into a driveway was involved in a collision with the motorcycle rider.
The rider died at the scene.
Police and other emergency services are at the Ziegler Parade crash site.
The driver of the vehicle is assisting police with their inquiries.
