HEART Of Puissance made up for an unlucky second placing in the Warrnambool Cup earlier this month with an easy victory in a $125,000 benchmark 84 at Flemington on Saturday.

The Ciaron Maher-David Eustace trained Heart of Puissance, with leading jockey Jamie Kah in the saddle, defeated Sign Seal Deliver by more than three lengths with Vividredsky back in third place in the 2500-metre race.
Maher said the four-year-old stallion deserved the victory after having no luck in the Warrnambool Cup.
"I don't think anyone missed his unlucky run in the Warrnambool Cup," the Winslow training export told The Standard.
"I was confident he would run well on Saturday but I was a bit worried about the track. I was just hoping there was a bit of give in the track which there was and that suited him down to the ground."
Maher praised the team's effort in getting Heart of Puissance prepared.
"The staff at our Ballarat stable have done a great job in having him ready for this race," he said. "We've got a few other staying races on the agenda for Heart Of Puissance through the winter.
"There's another nice race at Flemington which should really suit on June 5."
Heart Of Puissance, a $40,000 purchase at the 2018 Inglis Yearling Sale, took his record to four wins from 12 starts with Saturday's victory.
The stable also had Charleise win a $125,000 benchmark 72 at Rosehill.
