The 46-year-old Colac man was intercepted by members of Colac Highway Patrol at Elliminyt's Colac-Lavers Hill Road on Sunday afternoon.
Police say the man returned a positive result about 3.50pm.
He allegedly tole police he had just consumed "mouth spray".
Police waited 20 minutes before conducting another test which again returned a positive result.
The motorist was taken to Colac Police Station where police say he returned a result of 0.225.
His licence was immediately suspended for 12 months and his vehicle was impounded.
