Joe Montemurro has bowed out on a high after three-and-a-half successful years as boss of Women's Super League outfit Arsenal by watching his side pulverise Crystal Palace in his farewell game.

The Gunners' popular Australian coach oversaw an impressive 9-0 victory over Championship outfit Palace in the Women's FA Cup on Sunday, a victory which featured goals from eight different players.
Noelle Maritz scored twice while Kim Little, Beth Mead, Danielle Van De Donk, Jordan Nobbs, Vivianne Miedema, Jill Roord and Katie McCabe also found the net.
"I felt all week we wanted to go out on a high," said an emotional Montemurro.
"It's been great to get involved with the club and I can't put into words how it's been.
"It's been brilliant from the fans, and I cherish every word. They understand I made the decision on what's best for the club."
After seeing his side breeze into the last-eight of the competition which will be finished next season, Montemurro added: "It was a nice summary game to recap everything we've worked on over the past years.
"We finished in a brave way, trying some new things and taking some risks.
"I'm sure the club will now go on to bigger and better things."
After taking over at Arsenal in 2017, the 51-year-old from Melbourne took the Gunners to their first WSL title in seven years in 2019.
They also reached four domestic cup finals, including back-to-back Continental League Cup wins, and a Champions League quarter-final under his watch.
