The former Brauer College student rode the mare to defeat Don'ttelltheboss and Excelida on Saturday and prior to that outing he won on her at Sandown.
Nugent told The Standard Bons Abroad is a "lovely little horse" to ride.
"Bons Abroad does everything right in her races," he said.
"It was a perfectly run race. She jumped out of the gates really well. She's a push-button horse.
"She's settles when asked to settle but she has a good turn-of-foot when asked to accelerate.
"I rode her early as a two-year-old and now to see her develop into a city-winning mare is great.
"She can do a few things wrong but if your nice to her she returns the favour.
"Hopefully she could win a little black type race which would be a great reward for her connections.
"I've got to thank her owner, Ken King, he's been a great supporter of mine since I started riding."
From her 19 starts Bons Abroad has won five races.
Nugent's master Ciaron Maher, who trains in partnership with David Eustace, had one winner on the nine-race Flemington program.
They were successful with Yulong January in a $125,000 open handicap.
The win was Yulong January's first since he strung four consecutive victories together in late 2019.
Maher said it was great to get Yulong January back into the winners stall after a time in the wilderness.
"Yulong January just failed to come up last time," he said.
"His first-up effort at Sandown was good and I thought he would run well here. It's just great to have him back in winning form."
