The Blues were electric in Luke Parsons' 300^th game, stunning Old Collegians in a 116-point rout at home.

Blues coach Brayden Harkness was unsure of the severity of Dalton's injury but would check in with his side midweek to assess soreness.

He said the club was mindful of its player's loads through the season and would take a conservative approach to ensure they could feature regularly throughout the year.

"We scraped over the line against South Rovers, Panmure and Kolora-Noorat and those wins mean so much in the context of the season," Harkness said.

"It takes the pressure off and means we don't have to rush people back. But we're looking forward to having more consistency with our lineup in the second half of the season."

Harkness said his side was delighted to honour Parsons for his service to the club. The veteran defender booted three goals in a short stint forward.

"We swung him forward in the last quarter and he could have had a couple more. He was giving them off," he said.

"It was a great way to celebrate the occasion."

Harkness said his side - which was missing several key players to injury and unavailability - would have a bigger list to pick from in coming weeks.

He said reserves players who stepped up were strong performers and had forecast headaches at the selection table on Thursday.
