Simon Buchmasser, previously of Ballarat and now of Charlemont in Geelong, appeared in the dock of the County Court of Victoria on Wednesday. He pleaded guilty to two counts of sexually penetrating a child under 16 and one count of intentionally distributing child abuse material.
The court was told the sexual encounter occurred at a Warrnambool motel on January 5, 2020, days before Buchmasser's 21st birthday.
One month before the incident, Buchmasser and the then-16-year-old girl - who he did not know - started communicating on social media platform Snapchat. The pair agreed to have sex and Buchmasser booked and paid for a motel room.
They met at the motel, drank alcohol and engaged in various sex acts over a number of hours during their stay. The court was told Buchmasser video recorded the girl performing oral sex.
Four days later on January 9, Buchmasser sent numerous text messages to a 14-year-old girl, which included a video recording showing the complainant performing oral sex in the motel room. The 14-year-old girl then showed her mother the images and it was reported to the police.
Buchmasser was on a community corrections order at the time of the offending. He was arrested at a Ballarat address and remanded in custody.
Defence barrister Moya O'Brien said Buchmasser had a personality disorder, precocious puberty and a difficult upbringing.
She said Buchmasser had been using testosterone to bulk up and had been smoking cannabis since aged 12.
Ms O'Brien told the court Buchmasser was not a normal 21-year-old man.
"He is not a neurotypical person and that must colour in some ways your honour's approach of his moral culpability," she said.
Buchmasser was remanded in custody until next Wednesday for sentencing.
