Tracey Wilson, who runs Mosswood Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation, rescued one chick from Killarney Beach on April 11 and another at Warrnambool's Granny Grave the following day.

The penguins, now named The Gate Keeper and Barracuda, were two of more than 30 penguins that came into Ms Wilson's care last month, most of which have since died.

The pair was tubed with hydration, given antibiotics and then fed before being released back into Warrnambool's Stingray Bay on Friday.

Ms Wilson also helped them to regain their strength by allowing them to take dips in the pool at the Koroit rehabilitation centre.
