Despite what felt like a freezing morning, Thursday will be quite pleasant with daytime maximum temperatures forecast to reach 18 degrees.
It will be partly cloudy with areas of morning fog and light winds becoming east to north-easterly 15 to 20km/h in the morning then becoming light in the middle of the day.
Friday will see a 30 per cent chance of a shower in the west, near zero chance elsewhere.
Light winds becoming north to north-westerly. Overnight temperatures are expected to fall to around eight degrees with daytime temperatures reaching around 20 degrees.
A trough is extending down the east coast of Australia while a ridge of high pressure lingers over western Victoria.
The ridge will remain across Victoria today and during Friday.
On Saturday a trough crossing New South Wales will move near Victoria while a cold front crosses Tasmania.
