She admits it's a juggling act but she's glad she keeping up her sport as an outlet from study.
"It's quite stressful, I won't lie, balancing netball, basketball, school and work," she said.
"I don't think I really have a day off at all in the week.
"But I'm finding a balance and my teachers are really helpful as well and understand if I've got a lot on because there are a lot of kids at my school who have a lot on as well."
Bishop finds herself in the unique position of being one of her team's veterans at just 17.
"It's good to have a lot of the young girls come in and get them a run as well," she said.
"It's quite weird being one of the older ones considering I'm still underage.
Bishop said she had learnt from her side's younger players.
For example, she feels she's learnt both offensive and defensive tricks from Mia Mills.
"She's very good with her basketball IQ," Bishop said of her teammate.
Bishop played in the Mermaids' 2019 Big V campaign when they went winless at championship level.
It something which has held her in good stead now the Mermaids are back in division one.
"It was good to experience the tougher competition first and then adjust that into my game and it has probably helped me with stepping down a level," she said.
Bishop, who has played a mix of open-grade and division one netball for the Blues this season, can end up having massive Saturdays if the Mermaids play at home.
"It depends where we are playing for netball or basketball," she said.
"If it's an away game for basketball, I'll most likely play basketball.
"But if it's for netball and we're in town for basketball - it's normally wake up, have a shower, get ready, go to netball and support all the other teams as well, play, get home and freshen up before basketball.
"Then I'm not home until probably about 9pm after watching the Seahawks as well."
Bishop either plays centre or wing attack on the netball court.
She's a guard-forward when it comes to basketball.
The teenager feels playing both sports is helping her improve in each of them.
Having basketball has probably helped with my netball IQ, like knowing when the open player is there.

"Having basketball has probably helped with my netball IQ, like knowing when the open player is there," she said.
"And especially with long passes since we play on a bigger court."
Bishop scored four points in the Mermaids' 89-51 round seven loss to Chelsea.
The Mermaids travel to Sommerville Recreation Centre to take on Western Port in round eight on Saturday night.
They have won two games and lost five this Big V season.
Warrnambool Seahawks are facing Southern Peninsula at Hillview Stadium on Saturday. They have won three and lost four.
