Hamilton Kangaroos never found its rhythm, slotting just one major in the first half. The Gerard FitzGerald-coached side finished at 4.9 (33) to Portland's 20.14 (134).
The victory lifted the Tigers into the top five, extending its record to two victories and one loss after three rounds.
Jarrod Holt's men were ruthless. Portland led by 21 points at the first change, but extended its half-time buffer to 61 points on the back of 12 scoring shots in the second term. Hamilton Kangaroos, meanwhile, managed just two in that period. By the time the final siren sounded, Portland was 101 points up and sounding an ominous warning to the rest of the competition.
Both Portland and Hamilton Kangaroos - who joined the Hampden league in 2013 - are vying for their first senior finals appearance.
