Rowe said he wasn't sure where his inspiration to sing came from.

"Maybe it was when Dad was trying to strangle a few harmonies at Church in Penshurst," he said. "Or maybe it was Davina McClure, the then-director of Music at Hamilton College in Junior School. She was amazing.

"Ben Hiscock certainly encouraged me to take Voice as a VCE subject, after I performed in a number of the College musicals.

"While I mostly sing tenor, my voice is still developing as most male voices do well into your twenties and thirties. So I'm still not sure where I'll quite end up on the voice range."

Rowe followed his passion for music and is studying classical voice at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.

"Gaining admission to the Con was certainly a high point at the end of year 12 in 2018, and it not long after I met Douglas Lawrence from the Australian Chamber Choir who was looking for another tenor.

"I sang a couple of melodies for him and remember him saying, 'You'll do, here's the score, learn it, we're touring Europe in July,' and with that I became a member of one of Australia's most respected and loved choirs.

"The tour of Europe was an incredible experience; we were scheduled to sing at the Notre Dame in Paris on Bastille Day, but sadly only two weeks before concert date, it caught fire. We ended up singing in a sports stadium instead."

The Australian Chamber Choir often hits the road and takes their performances to regional areas.

The Choir's final performance before the coronavirus pandemic was their Cultural Capitals in Terang.

This time around, the Choir will perform the Requiem by Gabriel Faure and works by Tavener and Brahms.

Rowe said Saturday's performance will be a great opportunity to connect to the audience.

"It will be great to be singing in Terang again, it is such a lovely Church and the acoustics there so resemble the great Churches of Europe," he said.

"It is a beautiful thing to sing in a Choir of this quality, and while audiences might not notice it, we are always having a bit of fun; flexing and blending with each other throughout a piece of music.

"We feel very close and connected to our audience at Terang and we're really looking forward to presenting this beautiful piece of music."

Australian Chamber Choir will perform Faure Requiem at the Thomson Memorial Church in Terang on Saturday at 3pm. Tickets are $15-$40 with people under 15 free and available from Les Reicha's General Draper Store, Terang or online via auschoir.org.au
