The Tigers comfortably defeated a youthful Kolora-Noorat side 72-24 in their Warrnambool and District league second round match on Saturday.
Sobey was pleased with the balance of her side after the strong victory at Noorat Recreation Reserve.
"Everyone got a good run. I want to try and keep that happening all year and keep using our bench as we don't have an eighth, ninth or 10th player," she said.
"Everyone is good enough to be on and off the court which is really, really helpful and a massive bonus for a senior side to have no real bench."
The playing mentor said the victory was also a good chance for her side to strengthen as a unit.
"That's been my main focus at training at the moment, it's to try and get the girls to gel a bit as we have had a bit going on with a few not being able to make it to training," she said.
"It's good to see everyone start to get a bit of a flow happening."
Kolora-Noorat coach Carolyn Carlin was proud of how her young side played against an experienced Merrivale.
"There was a lot of pleasing things that came out of the game," she said. "The scoreboard will tell you who won and lost but I think there was a lot of winners for us.

"I was really happy and they are a really, really good side so can't take that away from them.
"We are still trying to work out team structure and a few different positions so it was good to put a few girls around and really challenge them.
"Merrivale brought great intensity to the game so it was great to see that high level of netball."
Meanwhile, Nirranda continued its strong start to the season with another thumping victory, this time over Allansford.
The Blues, led by star goalies Steph Townsend and Sophie Adams, piled on 92 goals to Allansford's 14 at Nirranda on Saturday.
Townsend sunk 57 of Nirranda's goals with Adams chipping in 37.
