FOR THE KIDS: Warrnambool Library Rhymetime is on from 10.30am. The event is free but bookings are required via Eventbrite.
CARNIVAL: The Warrnambool Family Carnival is operating from Good Friday until April 11 with rides including dodgem cars, the cha-cha and the Enchanted Circus. Keep an eye in the sky on Sunday evening with a Easter fireworks display by the foreshore from 8.45pm.
EXHIBITION: The Warrnambool and District Artists Society exhibition is now showing at the Merri View Gallery until June 20. The gallery is open 12pm-4pm on weekends.
SEA CHANGE: Caroline Healey and Tim Freeman's collaborative exhibition is now showing at The F Project. The exhibition showcases a range of Warrnambool and surrounding seascapes in the artist's different styles. The community gallery is open 10am-4pm Friday-Sunday at 224 Timor Street, Warrnambool with the show running until April 25.
Saturday:
FITNESS: Parkrun meets every Saturday at Lake Pertobe at 8am for a five-kilometre run/jog/walk.
MARKET: Wangoom Market Day will feature a stack of stalls including trash and treasure, garden produce and plants, kitchen goodies, sausage sizzle, tea and coffee, Devonshire tea, slices and door raffles. The day kicks off from 9am at the Wangoom Hall.
HEAVENLY SOUNDS: Come and experience the 'heavenly' sounds of these uncommon instruments and ensembles from 7.30pm at Christ Church. Performances include; harp solo by Rachel Gellert, hand pans and steel drums by Jayden Galbraith, South West Harpistry of Merran Moir, Pam Bennett, Sylvie Rodgers and Sonia Beal, uilleann pipes and guitar duet with Merran Moir and Sylvie Rodgers, recorders by Daniel Drum, cello and harp duo of Fiona Pugh and Pam Bennett and pipe organ, piano and alto saxophone duo of Sonia and Hamish Beal. Entry is $10 with proceeds raised donated to the Gillin Boys' Foundation.
Sunday:
CLASSICAL MUSIC: Warrnambool's Mozart Hall opens its doors for live music this weekend. Pianist Julie McErlain presents a recital of fine works by Scarlatti, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Chopin, Rachmaninov and Beethoven. Guests include James Philpot playing his own composition and an eight-hands-on two-piano piece. Entry is by a donation.
MARKET: Warrnambool showgrounds will hold its weekly undercover market from 8am to 1pm.
FRESH PRODUCE: The Fresh Market Warrnambool has a huge range of fresh produce and hand-crafted goods from 8.30am at Lake Pertobe.
CHALLENGE: The Friends of Mount Leura are holding the third 4 Peaks Challenge. Racers will climg to the summit of the Camperdown region's four volcano peaks; Leura, Sugarloaf, Mount Elephant and Mount Noorat in the one day. Competitors to meet at the Volcanic Information Centre on Mount Leura Road at 9.30am. Bring your own food, drink and sunscreen, and wear sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for the weather. Monday:
LEARNING: Warrnambool's University of the Third Age is hosting a tutorial with Andrew Whitmore who will introduce Warrnambool Library's current and future services plan. The tutorial will take place at 10.30am in the Hammond Centre on Henna Street and will also be streamed live over Zoom. Following the tutorial, U3A's annual general meeting will take place at 11.30am. For more information contact Peter Dexter on 0417 431 277.
BEEKEEPING: The beekeeping club meets every Monday at the Jim Robinson Shearing Pavilion at the Warrnambool Showgrounds at 7pm.
Wednesday:
MARKET: The Warrnambool Community Gardens' market returns from 3.30pm to 6.30pm with stalls of fresh fruit and vegetables, seedlings and plants from within 150 kilometres of the city. There will also be live music from Bruce Campbell and Friends.
SPOTLIGHT: Brophy Family and Youth Services are running an event at The Foyer 5pm to honour Youth Homelessness Matters Day.
