The Bombers promoted youngster Lara Taylor to their open side on Saturday and were swiftly rewarded.
The wing defence clunked five first-quarter interceptions to help her side skip away to an eight-goal triumph over North Warrnambool Eagles.
Bombers coach Sophie Hinkley said Taylor asserted herself well in her first open grade hit-out.
"She was amazing," Hinkley said.
"She was clean as a whistle. She didn't attract much attention from the umpires and showed her natural athleticism."
Hinkley said Taylor, a bottom-age 17 and under prospect, had strong family links to the club.
"Her father, Brett, was a great footballer for the club and her mum was a division two best-and-fairest and played for a long time," she said.
The second-year coach said the club was excited to give opportunities to more juniors who were pressing a case for selection.
"Sometimes when juniors are brought up they're needed to be the superstar because they might be playing if a team is not as strong or lacking numbers," Hinkley said.
"We're in a unique position in that we've had a couple of injuries meaning there are genuine spots there for our juniors to play (alongside experience)." Cobden plays Camperdown on Saturday.
