But meet Nullawarre's Judith Poumako and Merle Dalton and you'll learn that's certainly not the case.
They were part of women's football teams in the 1950s and are keen to share their history.
They would love for others to come forward and add to the archives.
Poumako played for Nullawarre ladies while Dalton was part of the Nirranda South ladies side.
