STAWELL SES confirmed all students were accounted for and safe.
"We got them down about 8pm," Stawell SES controller Brody Stewart said.
"A few were checked over by Ambulance Victoria and of course they were pretty hungry."
EARLIER, 7.30pm:
HORSHAM SES is assisting Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria in locating a group of missing hikers on the pinnacle.
Calls for assistance were received at about 5pm to locate the 28 missing school students.
"We understand a few students might have heat stroke and that's our concern right now," Stawell's deputy controller Brody Stewart said.
"We are concerned with how much light is left in the day and hope they are on their way back down."
Stawell and Dunkeld SES are also assisting with the search.
