The equation was simple for Mortlake-Cobden on Monday as the composite team recorded a proud Warrnambool and District Cricket Association under 13 premiership victory at JJ Colledge Oval in Port Fairy.
Mortlake-Cobden set up the triumph, which came over Merrivale, through a strong batting performance.
It blasted a total of 218 from its 48 overs, while the Tigers managed 174 in response.
Mortlake-Cobden co-coach Leigh Walsh said while initially wary of each other, the group had become close mates.
"They've gelled really well," he said.
Our running between the wickets has been a big focus for us.

"The main reason (co-coach Ian Mahncke and I) did it we had a group of kids at Cobden who liked their cricket, and they liked it enough to play a good level of cricket.
"We felt they needed to go the next step from our level in the South West Cricket Association which was only purely because the ages are quite broad.
"In the WDCA the kids are predominately 11 or 12."
Walsh said the side was better for the experience and challenge.
He said the clubs hoped to field an under 15 side as the group grew older.

Walsh said Mortlake-Cobden's start - which included four batsmen reaching the mandatory retirement score of 40 - was crucial.
"Our running between the wickets has been a big focus for us," he said.
"In junior cricket, you get a lot of run outs just through people not talking and we've really emphasised that and tried to keep everyone playing cricket shots.
"We want to give them a bit of strategy too.
"A few aims of where you need to be at certain times instead of just going out there and batting."
