Detective Sergeant Jason von Tunk, of the Portland police crime investigation unit, said that at 12.50pm Thursday officers executed a search warrant at a Wellington Road address.
There they found three cannabis plants, a small amount of dried cannabis and two imitation firearms - a gel AK47 style machine gun and a handgun.
The detective said two people would be interviewed by police and drugs and weapons charges were expected to be laid.
"We are certainly having issues with imitation firearms," Detective Sergeant von Tunk said.
"Many people are telling us they didn't know these imitation firearms being bought on the internet are illegal.
"Not only are they illegal but there are very serious penalties for possessing these illegal items, including imprisonment."
On Tuesday a cache of imitation weapons were located at a west Warrnambool address, followed by more homemade and imitation guns and crossbows near Lismore on Wednesday.
Charges were laid over both these police raids.
Portland uniform police also raided a home in Kennedy Court on Wednesday morning, seizing eight edged weapons.
Those items included six swords and two daggers.
A 44-year-old Portland man was arrested, interviewed, charged with possession of prohibited weapons and bailed to appear in the Portland Magistrates Court at a later date.
The execution of the warrant came about after an incident in Portland mid last month.
