BREAKFAST: Grab your mates and come say g'day at Grab Life By The Balls and HIIT Nation's 'Breakfast in Bread' event for bacon and eggs, coffee and chin wags and a healthy dose of mateship. Donations welcome but not essential. 7.30am on Friday at Lake Pertobe Adventure Playground.
15 MINUTES OF FAME: 15 Minutes of Fame is back at Crossley on Friday with two concerts in the Hall and one in the Church. All acts are now performing in both venues. All tickets $15 at the door at 6.45 pm, with both shows starting at 7.30 pm. The St Brigids Catering Team will be providing COVID safe food. BYO Drinks and glasses. A blanket or jacket is recommended for the church concert. The acts include Flo Lindeman, Loui & Leon Ryan, Brett Holbrook and Keith Prest, Trio Incognito, Maddie Jackway, Dixie Nouveau, Gemma Sheldon and Tim Free, Trevor Keilar and Judy Sharrock and Lynne Moloney & The Teachers Pets.
FOLKIE: Port Fairy will be transformed into a hive of music and celebration as the iconic Port Fairy Folk Festival returns to the south-west this weekend. Kutcha Edwards and Nigel Wearne will open the festival at 7pm on Friday at the Reardon Theatre.
MINI FESTIVAL: Oak and Anchor Hotel will be hosting host a mini music festival from Friday to Monday featuring Southern Ocean Sea Band, Richard Tankard, Kim Churchill, Tom Mac, Leslie D. King, Geoff Achison, John McNamara and more. Doors open Friday 5pm.
Saturday
WEEKEND ON THE GREEN: Warrnambool FReeZA is presenting an all-ages music event on Warrnambool's Civic Green this Labour Day weekend. Performances from six young local acts are scheduled across two afternoons that will bring back the joy of live music. The line-up includes: Flynn Gurry Band, Snakes Don't Need Keys, Gabby Steel, Mel & Tess, Ruby McKenna, and Monique Brown. Live music from 3pm to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. Weekend on the Green is a drug and alcohol free event.
COMMUNITY MARKET: The Port Fairy Community Market is full of locally grown produce and handmade products. Over 60 stalls with live music, from 8.30am Saturday at Railway Place.
OPEN STUDIOS: There will be an Open Studio Weekend in Port Fairy where artist studios and galleries will be open to give people an opportunity to people to meet artists in their work spaces and talk with them about their art.
FOLKIE: Special Folkie event 'Keep the Circle Unbroken' will feature the likes of Tim Rogers, Brooke Taylor, Bobby Valentine, Hamish Davidson, Cam McKenzie, Oriel Glennen, Sarah Carrol and Fenn Wilson to perform songs inspired by one of the most influential albums in the history of music - the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band's 1972 album Will the Circle be Unbroken. 7pm at the Reardon Theatre.
VINTAGE RALLY: Immerse yourself in the past with everything from traction engines to sewing machines at the annual Cobden Vintage Rally. The event is hosted by the South Western District Restoration Group and will take place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Racecourse Park Rally Ground, 73 Grayland Street, Cobden.
PARKRUN: Warrnambool Parkrun is a free, weekly timed running event at Lake Pertobe from 8am - 10am.
Sunday:
GARDEN PARTY: Yani's Kitchen Port Fairy will host a Sunday Garden Party with performances from Flo, Kinnon, GUB, Flynn Gurry, DJ Cheese Bros and more.
ALI BARTER: Melbourne singer-songwriter Ali Barter is playing a solo gig at The Dart & Marlin, 3pm Sunday.
MARKET: Warrnambool showgrounds will hold its weekly undercover market from 8am to 1pm.
FRESH MARKET: Fresh Market Warrnambool will be running at Lake Pertobe from 8.30am. It's the market's fifth birthday.
FOLKIE: On Sunday night one of Australia's most highly regarded folk singers, Ruth Hazleton, will be joined by guitarist Fiona Steele and Luke Plumb on mandolin and bouzouki, alongside Charm of Finches and Louisa Wise at 7pm at the Reardon Theatre as part of the Port Fairy Folk Festival.
Monday
FOLKIE: Capping off the festival on Monday will be a 1pm performance by Weddings, Parties, Anything's Mick Thomas and singer-songwriter Kee'ahn.
