A police night shift in the Mortlake district has proved successful with two drink drivers caught and truckies forced to slow down.

A police spokesman said a Dundonnell worker was intercepted leaving a Mortlake licensed premises at 1am last week and blew an evidentiary alcohol reading of .13.
He was immediately suspended for 13 months and faces heavy fines and the loss of demerit points.
Police claim a woman was also pulled over near Lismore at 11.18pm and recorded an alcohol reading of .098.
She was immediately suspended for six months and also fined and lost demerit points.
Truck drivers were also intercepted overnight last week and six tickets were issued.
"It was a highly successful night shift," the officer said.
"We certainly got word back from a local service station that the truck drivers all knew we were out and about and pleasing they changed their behaviour accordingly - slowing down.
"We will continue to use flexibility in rostering and other strategies to see who is getting about at night and to ensure that heavy vehicle drivers are doing the right thing."
