Champion jockey Damian Lane came with a well-timed run on Capriccio to defeat Bella Nipotina and Lord Olympus in the set weights and penalties race over 1100 metres.

Bowman said plans were in place for Capriccio to have her next start in Adelaide but those ideas were up in the air after her win.

"We've got to have a rethink about where her next run is going to be," he told The Standard.

"We've got to have a serious look at some of the rich races in Sydney over the next few weeks.

"I'm not sure which way to go it'll be either Sydney or Adelaide but the way she won today Sydney is a serious option. We had originally planned on going over to Adelaide.

"I would say we'll have to lift the bar with her. We'll just take her home and see how she pulls up over the next few days before finalising any plans."

Saturday's win was Capriccio's second from four runs and Bowman admitted the three-year-old may be better then he originally thought.

"We've always know she had a bit of ability but she may be better then I've thought," he said.

"She's still got a far bit of improvement in her. I went to the races quietly confident she may run third or fourth so to win so impressively is a real bonus.

"We'll try to get some black type next to her name in feature races which really enhances her future in the breeding barn."

Bowman purchased Capriccio for $300,000 as a yearling. She has now won more then $330,000 in stakemoney for her connections.
