He said the new design had been well-received and added to the buzz of the club's relatively new jumper and 2021 recruits.
It comes after the Warrnambool and District league club returned to its original white V and royal blue jumpers in 2019.
Melican said the new logo was inspired by the club's one from about 40 years ago.

However, he said it came with an important update.
Russells Creek's football, cricket and netball teams are recognised in the latest version.
Netball wasn't part of the logo during its previous life.
"We pride ourselves on being an all-inclusive, all-abilities club," Melican said.
"That's our agenda now.
"No one's going to be excluded at Russells Creek at whatever level they play or support."
The second-year president explained the club was also dropping its association with the kangaroo symbol and returning to its former nickname, Creekers.
Melican said the club adopted the North Melbourne Kangaroos' striped jumper and symbol in the late 1980s.
He said the logo was already on the club's Facebook page and would be on this season's membership cards, gate passes and other advertising.
