While he's passionate about both sports he was happy to share some of the aspects he prefers about bowls.
"I've never enjoyed practising golf but bowls you can go down by yourself anytime and just have a roll," he said.
"You don't need anybody else and you don't have to walk a mile to find your ball.
"And I find it relaxing, especially if I'm in the garden, I find it just frees up the muscles."

Terang Green fell 78-40 against City Gold on Saturday at City Memorial.
Morrison plays as a third for Green in the Western District Bowls Division (WDBD) top-grade weekend pennant.
He said he started playing pennant for Terang about 30 years ago.
But he was already familiar with the game before he got involved in competition.
"I've been bowling for 40 years, I took it up so my in-laws would talk to me," he said with a laugh.
"My in-laws didn't really like playing golf, they were both very good bowlers."
Morrison, a club life member, has enjoyed numerous highlights during his three decades at Terang.
He was skip in a WDBD division two premiership.
The experienced bowler said that was Terang's top side at the time.
He has also had success outside of pennant.
"I managed to play with the best player at our club and we were runner-up in our (WDBD) division pairs but that's a long time ago," he said.
These days Morrison is chairman of the match committee.
He said consistency had been a problem for his team this pennant.
"We started off with a blaze, we knocked off Warrnambool but we haven't done much since then," he said.
"We lose to the teams we shouldn't lose against and we give the teams we shouldn't beat a run for their money."
Morrison said Terang Green enjoyed the challenge of playing the top sides.
He added Terang Bowls Club's Corporate Challenge was on at the moment, with the third round coming up.
In other weekend pennant division one matches, Mortlake Blue and Warrnambool Gold played a 56-all draw at Mortlake.
City Red scored a resounding 79-44 victory against Warrnambool Blue.
Port Fairy got the chocolates at home defeating Koroit Blue 61-39.
Dennington Jets overcame Timboon Gold 67-54 at Timboon.
