The brother and sister will join their mum, Linda, in Saturday's Warrnambool leg of the Shipwreck Coast Swim Series.
Linda tackled the series this past year and convinced her children, who are both keen nippers, to join in.
Deny and Rory had a taste of the event at Port Fairy on New Year's Day and are now scheduled to complete the series.
"It's mostly about fun for me. I'm just swimming with some friends and all that," Rory told The Standard.
"I love ocean swimming. I find it better than just swimming in the pool. You have a lot more room and area to swim.
"In a pool you're just going up and down the lanes."
Both Deny and Rory said they'd look to tackle the Port Campbell leg to round out the series.
"A lot of my friends say (Port Campbell) is one of the nicer swims," Rory said.
"It's our first year doing it. Mum did it last year as a way of testing it out and we were keen to have a go."
Deny, 13, is expected to tackle the full-length swim while Rory, 12, will race in the short-course field.
"I might have a go at the full length swim at Port Campbell," Rory said.
"I'm working on my speed a bit. I just want to try to get to the top and be racing with the top people."
Deny, meanwhile, said he was taking a relaxed approach to the swim.
"I used to do (squad) swimming but I don't any more. I still try though," he said.
Rory said she was pleased with her efforts at the Port Fairy leg. She finished fifth in her age group, while Deny clocked in about 80th overall.
Registrations are not available on the day. Swimmers who tackle all three swims can win an Orca Sonar Wetsuit.
