It's the first time the family home on Gipps Street has been on the market and Port Fairy Stockdale and Leggo real estate agent Sarah McCorkell said the property had plenty to offer.
"It's special in the fact that this is the first time it has been for sale because it has been a family home and it won't come up for sale very often," she said.
"The beauty of it is that in one direction you're over the bridge and at a patrolled surf beach and turn around the other way and you're in the main street with all the shops and cafes and restaurants."
The large corner block is approximately 958 square metres and the 1950s house has two bedrooms, two living areas, one bathroom and a single garage or workshop.
The property also has a one-bedroom Granny Flat with kitchenette and ensuite.
Ms McCorkell said the property also had beautiful views and the aspect of the house meant there was all day sunlight.
"It's obviously an older property but still in solid condition, the opportunities are endless," she said.
She said buyers may want to keep it as as a family home and look to renovate down the track or may investigate with council the option of subdividing and putting two townhouses on the block
Ms McCorkell said Port Fairy continued to attract strong interest from regional and metro buyers.
"We've had farming people as well as city buyers looking for their holiday house, retirement house or somewhere to relocate altogether," she said.
"We always have a great portion of buyers of people who have camped and holidayed here over the years, and are at that point in their life where they're ready to have a piece of Port Fairy.
"It's plenty of interest from Hamilton, Horsham, Camperdown, Terang and around the region.
"I've had buyers from Swan Hill, Maryborough, Avoca and Geelong and Melbourne.
"We're getting buyers from everywhere."
The property will be auctioned on Saturday, February 20.
