Cats skipper Todd Robertson confirmed Clinton Baker and Isaac Wareham were unavailable Sunday.
Bulls captain Grant Place said Tharaka Sendanayake was unavailable too.
Sendanayake recorded scores of 57 not out and 56 not out earlier this summer.
Baker and Wareham have been South West Cricket stars this season.
Baker is a regular wicket-taker and belted 121 not out against Terang in November.
Wareham has scored 64 and 53 during his past two one-day outings.
Robertson said Nathan Jones and young Simon Atkinson had been called up for Sunday's game.
Atkinson is in hot form having notched up 98 for South West's under 17 country week side last week.
"He brings a lot of enthusiasm and is really good in the field," Robertson said.
Enthusiasm has been be a hallmark of Mortlake's twenty20 campaign.
"Our younger core really enjoy playing the shorter-form of cricket," Robertson said.
"It makes it a little easier when all the young ones are enthusiastic about it."
The Mortlake skipper feels the game will come down to whichever team can apply the most pressure and do the simple things well.
He's confident his bowlers and fielders can defend a total if the team bats out its overs.
Place believes his side needs to post more than 100 if it bats first.
"Anything over 100, if you can bowl and field extremely well, you're in with a chance against any side. I imagine it will be no different against Mortlake," he said.
"Obviously we're definitely aiming for a few more than that."
Mortlake and Pomborneit are also playing a one-day match on Saturday.
