GRASSMERE is daring to dream after a Braden Hotker masterclass delivered a knockout blow to reigning premier Hawkesdale.
Hotker's 117-run haul - which came from just 75 balls - helped the Meerkats to a six-wicket triumph on Saturday.
The knock featured 16 fours and four sixes.
He was only dropped once and it was a pretty hard catch so it was just a great innings.
Craig Spikin
Grassmere co-captain Craig Spikin said Hotker's innings laid the foundation for the triumph.
"He sort of played all the shots in the book," Spikin said.
"He was only dropped once and it was a pretty hard catch so it was just a great innings."
The result kept Grassmere within six points of joint leaders Hawkesdale and Yambuk.
Spikin said bowler Brad Bushell, who snared three wickets, was another standout.
He said the result would boost the Meerkats' confidence. Grassmere will play off against Wangoom on Saturday.
