Despite missing a game and a half due to feeling unwell, he won the under 17 country week player of the week.
He backed up after winning the under 15 player of the week last summer.
The 16-year-old's stats included 42 runs in game one, 41 in game three and 75 in Thursday's semi-final.
The medium-pacer also picked up two wickets during the carnival.
Concentration was key to the youngster's performances.
"I just tried to focus as hard as I could I guess," he said.
"Just tried not to get distracted or anything like that.
"It was easier when nearly every game I had someone to bat with, we batted through together pretty well."
Wilkinson said he would have preferred to have played in the country week grand final than win the individual award.
Mount Gambier was triumphant in the decider against Horsham at Avery's Paddock on Friday.
Warrnambool and District Cricket Association chairman Gordon McLeod confirmed it was the first time Mount Gambier had won the under 17s.
Horsham was all out for 125 before Mount Gambier posted 5/126.
Harry Fisher was awarded player of the match by the umpires after he took 4-26 and contributed a gritty 29 to the total.
Fisher said he focused on rotating the strike during his innings.
Captain Ethan Bowman was thrilled with the win.
"It's pretty good, didn't think it would happen," he said.
The 17-year-old felt his side took wickets when they needed to.
Fisher felt the group chased down totals well during the week.
"We didn't really set big totals but the team did all right chasing runs and defending scores," he said.
Team manager Dave Williamson said each player did their bit during the week.
"The thing about our team is everyone contributed, it was a very even contribution across all the kids, they all got wickets and runs," he said.
