The Warrnambool and District Historical Vehicle Club's annual display has been running for nearly 40 years and the 2021 event kicks off at 9am. Club publicity officer Martin Dunstan is excited to see what vehicles people bring along.

"We normally get about 100 cars from all ages," he said. "It's always interesting to see what people drag out of their sheds.

"People love walking through and you hear lots of conversations down memory lane."

Cars, motorbikes and trucks will all be on display on Sunday. Murray Murfett has owned a1920 Dodge for the past 35 years and has participated in club rallies and across the country with his prized possession.

"The car is simple to upkeep because cars were built simply back then," he said.

"I take it out for a few drives throughout the year and to take the neighbourhood kids to their year six graduations.

"The event is a chance for Warrnambool car owners to display their vehicles and we do it in January for the benefit of tourists and the good weather."

The Dodge was a local barn find. It was originally purchased new in Terang by Shire of Mortlake president John Clifford. Mr Clifford used the vehicle for civic duties until 1936 when it had an altercation with his gatepost on return from the Noorat Show.

Rediscovered by an enthusiast in 1966, it was purchased for $20 and completely restored in Terang over two years.

The tourer will be one of the oldest vehicles on display at Sunday's event.
