Geelong's Michael Ebborn (pictured) achieved the feat on Thursday.
"I thought it would have been close and would've been a foot in it," he said of the successful shot.
"I was talking to a guy who won the car last year and he goes 'it was a pretty good shot'.
"It was a bit of a shock but a good feeling to get a hole-in-one. It is very rare to get them."
Mr Ebborn, 47, said he used to play golf regularly but now had a hit "once in a blue moon".
He said he would venture back to the hole-in-one competition at Lake Pertobe to try his luck again before heading home on January 5.
The annual ace battle, now in its 13th year, kicks off on Boxing Day each year and runs until January 26.
This year's competition will end with a shoot-off to win a black Kia Picanto.
