Simmons finished with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists as the 76ers overcame a 14-point deficit in the second quarter to snare the 100-93 win on Wednesday AEDT.

The Raptors still led by five points with less than six minutes remaining, but the 76ers closed out the game with a hot 18-6 run to improve their record to 3-1 under new coach Doc Rivers.

Simmons nailed just three of his 11 field goal attempts at 27.3 per cent accuracy, and he also missed three of his eight free-throw attempts.

But he at least fared much better than countryman Baynes, who scored just two points on 1-of-8 shooting in his 22 minutes of action for the Raptors (0-3).

Baynes thought he sank a three late in the match to level the scores, but it was wiped on review with officials deeming the shot clock had expired before the ball left his hands.

Two days earlier, Australian point guard Patty Mills became just the 10th player to notch 600 games for the San Antonio Spurs.

Mills tallied 10 points and three assists in his milestone match as the Spurs went down to the New Orleans Pelicans 98-95.

The 32-year-old, who arrived in San Antonio in 2012-13, is the longest-serving Spurs player on the current roster and the only remaining member of the 2014 Championship squad.

Mills could climb to as high as sixth on the list of games played at the club by the end of this season.

The Milwaukee Bucks scored an NBA record 29 three-pointers in their 144-97 demolition of the Miami Heat while Orlando beat Oklahoma City.

Phoenix, Sacramento and the Los Angeles Clippers were also winners.
