Police said the man had gone down the steps on Thursday afternoon but became unwell and emergency services had to be called.
Ambulance, State Emergency volunteers and police were called in to assist in the rescue operation.
The man was treated by ambulance officers.
It's understood the man was assessed and then transported by ambulance to the Warrnambool Base Hospital for treatment.
