Detective Senior Constable Richard Hughes, of the Warrnambool police crime investigation unit, said the man was arrested at a property in Camperdown's Gunner Street on Monday at 9.10am.

He said the arrest was part of a planned operation relating to an alleged robbery at Camperdown's Caltex Service Station on November 7.

The detective interviewed the man at Terang police station, where he made full admissions to the robbery.

The man was charged and bailed to appear in the Warrnambool Magistrate Court on April 6.

Detective Senior Constable Hughes said a second known offender currently on remand for an unrelated armed robbery at Cobden would be interviewed about the Camperdown robbery in the coming days.

He said the robbery was committed at Camperdown at 1.47am, with two male offenders allegedly walking in in and robbing the 45-year-old male service station attendant, who was working alone, of a sum of cash.

The offenders were allegedly wearing hoodies and bandanas over heads and faces, and were last seen running west along Scott Street in Camperdown.
