After cancelling productions earlier this year due to the COVID-19 lockdown, outdoor Shakespeare company OZACT has set the scene for celebrating this Christmas season with 'A Feast of Shakespeare' in the Camperdown Botanic Gardens.

The production brings together four abridged classics from OZACT's repertoire - Macbeth, Pericles, King Lear and The Tempest.

Established in 1995, the company is already a favourite with audiences across Victoria, and beyond, for its landmark productions of Shakespeare at spectacular wilderness, heritage and garden settings.

The Camperdown Botanic Gardens have become one of OZACT's favourite locations, with its sweeping lawns, majestic trees, colourful floral displays provide an ideal location to enjoy Shakespeare in the great outdoors, says Artistic Director Bruce Widdop.

Mr Widdop encouraged both new-comers and OZACT fans alike to come along and delve into the world of Shakespeare.

"This is Shakespeare for all tastes, with powerful acting, moving tragedy, tender romance, uproarious comedy and unearthly magic that is sure to satisfy in this most spectacular setting of Camperdown Botanic Gardens," he said.

The production is directed by Bruce Widdop and Matt Young.

The cast includes well known OZACT company members Bruce Widdop, Matt Young, Sorcha Breen, Ryan Ireland, Eleanor Ruth, and Luke Ingram.

Mr Widdop said the production provides audiences the perfect opportunity to enjoy some outdoor entertainment and social delights we have all been missing for most of the year.

"With COVID-19 safety our priority, we are excited to be able to 'Shakespeare" once more with you all.

"Ticket numbers are limited due to restrictions, so please book early."

There will be two shows on January 23 and 24 at 4pm at Camperdown Botanic Gardens.
