The series of upgrades for the community hub will include new modular pump track and outdoor half-basketball court as part of the funding allocation.
Glenelg Shire mayor Anita Rank said the projects would "transform" the popular recreational precinct.
"Island Park will soon offer facilities for basketball, skateboarding, scooting and bike riding, enhancing the already extensive range of sport and recreational offerings within the precinct," she said.
"It will transform Casterton and provide a whole range of new opportunities not just for the township, but for the whole region.
"The pump track and the half basketball court will also follow on from the proposed Casterton Community Garden, highlighting the range of major projects earmarked which will overhaul Island Park, both for locals and visitors alike."
The pump track and basketball court were identified as key priorities for the township following previous consultation sessions and community feedback.
Glenelg Shire Council secured the funding though the federal government's Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program.
