The team hadn't tasted victory since round two of the Western District Bowls Division top-grade midweek pennant.
City Green proved too strong for Warrnambool Blue recording a 69-54 win at home.
The 15-shot victory saw City Green move up to seventh position on the ladder with two wins and four losses.
It was a great day for skipper Barbara Bibby who was hoping her team could turn its fortunes around.
She was thrilled to have Bryan Sheehan fill in as she was hoping to get a couple of men in the side to help the team be more competitive. The team has usually been all female this year in a mixed competition.
Bibby said she took up the sport about 20 years ago when she was living on a farm at Mininera.
"I started off playing three or four years at Chalambar in Ararat and won a premiership there," she said.
"Then I went back and played at Lake Bolac, which is probably my home club, and won a couple of premierships there.

"Then we retired and I've been here 12 years.
"I've played bowls every year. The first year I won (a premiership) in third division, the next year I won one in second division and now I've won six out of nine in top division."
Bibby said she decided to join Chalambar at the beginning of her career so she could play with her mother.
She won her six division one pennants with City Memorial Gold.
The decorated bowler, who has been City Memorial's club champion twice, has also played fours at regional level and over 60s pairs at state level.
Club fours, pairs, mixed pairs and triples championship wins are also among her achievements.
Bibby said she just played midweek pennant.
"At the moment, we've got so much bowls on here, you don't need to play Saturday, I can't live up here and I nearly do," she said with a laugh.
In other matches, Warrnambool Gold defeated City Gold 66-47, Timboon Maroon got the chocolates against Port Fairy Gold with a 73-46 victory.
Terang Gold scored a 52-45 win against Mortlake Blue and Koroit Orange overcame Dennington Dolphins 70-43.
Timboon Maroon sits on top of the ladder with five wins and one loss.
City Gold is second with four victories and two losses.
The first versus third encounter between Timboon Maroon and Koroit Orange is shaping up as the match of the round next week.
City Green will face eighth-placed Dennington Dolphins at Dennington.
