This year has been a year of the unexpected and today Warrnambool's windy weather has thrown a spanner in the works for Santa Claus. Saint Nick had been scheduled for a flyover in Warrnambool as part of the city's A Very Different Christmas. But unfortunately it has been postponed due to cross winds. "Santa Claus had been warned the winds in Warrnambool could be a bit unpredictable, but he didn't think he would have to postpone," said organiser Adele Griffin. "It's disappointing but not even Santa can control Warrnambool's weather."
Ms Griffin said it was hoped he may be able to return to the city for the flyover next weekend. "We'll have a look at forecasts for next weekend," she said. Ms Griffin said it would have been a perfect way to finish a very successful weekend. "We couldn't be happier," she said. "It's been a great weekend." Ms Griffin thanked south-west residents for getting out and showing their support to local businesses.
