Warrnambool City Council's annual cleaning program kicks in on November 30 and will be carried out three times a week between December and Easter.
Extra cleaning will be carried out for the May Race week, depending on conditions and accessibility to the beach, the council said.
"Beach cleaning may also occur on long weekends and for community events such as surf carnivals," the council said in a statement.
"Seaweed is placed against the dunes where possible."
Seaweed washing up on the beach between Worm Bay and the Pavillion is a regular problem at various times of the year but council has said it was not always possible to remove the build up during winter because of high tides.
