Two division one matches were played on hard wickets due to turf ground unavailability this past Saturday, while three division two matches were played on turf.
The duo told Cow Corner, division one games should take precedence.
Strauch, who played for Factory's division two side on Saturday, said he'd have been happy to play on a hard wicket to leave the Jones Oval for top-grade action.
Templeton said while scores would be lower on turf, it was a sacrifice worth making. He said Twenty20 cricket, however, suited being played on hard wickets.
