No fewer than nine tons were blasted across the district this past weekend in a major boon for the region's batsmen.
Russells Creek's Shashan Silva and Terang's Tommy Moloney blasted hundreds in the Warrnambool and District and South West cricket associations' highest grade.
Nirranda's Jakob Stennett was the only division two centurion while East Warrnambool's Anthony Martin, Brierly-Christ Church's Scott Nicolson and Wesley-CBC's Jeremy Gillies met the milestone in the Warrnambool and District Cricket Association's division three.
I was lucky I had two experienced teammates to bat with me and keep me in line.
- Jakob Stennett
Pomborneit duo Stephen Hill (137 not out) and Stephen Walters (123) enjoyed South West Cricket thirds success while Boorcan's Luke Heffernan (107) was another division three standout.
Stennett, who joined Nirranda as co-captain in the winter, told The Standard his teammates deserved credit for keeping him focused.
He was disappointed he couldn't steer his side to victory. "I wasn't seeing them too bad," he said.
"But (Merrivale) brought on a young lad called Jaxon Madden and he stopped me in my tracks a bit. He took the pace off the ball and I struggled to hit them.
"I was lucky I had two experienced teammates to bat with me and keep me in line. Ben Oates and Jarryd Walsh really kept me focused because I was pretty frustrated I couldn't get him away."
Stennett said he built the innings on "playing straight".
