Brucknor CFA captain Trevor Smith attended the fire and said the shed was "gutted" but still standing.
"I don't think it is going to be much good. There was a tractor in the shed it was burnt," he said.
Eight tankers had responded to the fire on the Cobden - Port Campbell Road and fully extinguished the blaze by 4pm.
EARLIER: Emergency services are responding to a hay shed fire near Timboon.
Eleven emergency vehicles are currently responding to the fire on the Cobden - Port Campbell Road at Scotts Creek after receiving a call out around 1.15pm on Saturday.
An emergency advice message was sent out around 2pm for Cowleys Creek, Scotts Creek and Timboon.
It says smoke will be visible to nearby towns and communities.
A Country Fire Authority spokesman said the shed was "fully involved" in the fire.
He said there was machinery in the shed including a tractor and tyres.
"The fire is contained," he said.
