The bank staff has donated $2000 to the SES, who have been busy helping keep the community safe during the recent floods.
Two years ago, bank staff suggested they could clean the branch, a saving calculated by the board at $2000.
It was then the wish of the staff that this money should be donated to a worthy community group.
Port Fairy SES Unit Controller Stephen McDowell said the money would be used to purchase equipment for the unit's trucks.
"The Port Fairy SES Unit would like to extend a big thank-you to the staff at the Port Fairy and district Community Bank branch for their generous donation to our unit," Mr McDowell said.
Port Fairy and District Community Bank secretary Ashley King said the donation was a credit to the bank's staff.
"The directors of Port Fairy and District Community Bank are proud of this wonderful gesture from our branch team," Mr King said.
"How proud does that make you feel of what they do for our community".
The allocation to the Port Fairy SES Unit was the second such investment in the community through the staff's cleaning efforts.
Last year, staff used the cleaning fund allocation of $2000 to purchase two settees for the Moyne Health Services Lighthouse Lounge, located at the Port Fairy Senior Citizens Centre.
