The Warrnambool driver recorded his second career World Of Outlaws triumph on Sunday, scoring an emotional victory in the Jason Johnson Classic at Lake Ozark Speedway in Missouri.
McFadden - a close friend of Johnson - was overcome with emotion post-race.
"Jason (Johnson) was a close friend to our family and we spent a lot of time in Australia together," McFadden told World Of Outlaws website.
"To get this is huge. It's a privilege to be here and unreal to get the win.
"That one hit the old heart strings. Proud to get the win for a good mate."
Johnson died following a crash during a World of Outlaws round in Wisconsin in 2018. He was 41.
McFadden secured the triumph from Kasey Kahne Racing teammate Brad Sweet, who duelled for first throughout the $USD15,000 feature.
McFadden, who won his second South West Conveyancing Grand Annual Sprintcar Classic in January, overcame six restarts to claim victory.

- James McFadden
It was the former Territorian's first start at the track, which is nestled in America's mid-west. "I nearly gave it away with three to go," McFadden said. "When you've got Donny (Schatz) and Brad (Sweet) behind you, you've got to give it 100 percent. It's tough. "Those guys are racing for points. You don't want to make a mistake and get in their way. I'm just super pumped to get the win.
"It's so good. We've been so close. I've got to thank my Karavan guys, Kasey Kahne Racing, Curb Records, Team ASE. I'm pretty pumped. This is my (most special) win. To do it is unreal."
The next World Of Outlaws date is set for October 24 at Kokomo Speedway in Indiana.
