Detective Sergeant Mark James, of the Hamilton police crime investigation unit, said officers intercepted a car about 7pm in Brown Street.
A 22-year-old woman was found in the vehicle with a convicted drug dealer, who was previously jailed for six months.
Police seized cash of about $2000, as the suspected proceeds of crime, and officers also located prescription medication.
The woman was released pending inquiries but is expected to be charged at a later date with a number of offences.
